  • First climb of the day out of Chama River Valley
  • Getting onto Mesa de Los Viejos.  Chama River and our eventual takeout in background.
  • Everyone atop Mesa de Los Viejos.  10 miles to reach Cebolla Creek camp.
  • Cebolla Creek, morning of 1st launch.  Figuring out how to pack the boats.
  • Starting down the Chama at 500 cf/s.
  • Wild & Scenic Chama River.
  • Huckaby Canyon's last pour off kept us from going further up.
  • Everyone launched & ready to head south on Rio Grande into the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument.
  • Heading south towards Lasauses, CO & the San Luis Hills
  • 1st camp, south of Lasauses in the Fairy Hills.
  • Working through shallows - 100 sf/s isn't much water!  San Luis Hills Wilderness Study Area in the background.
  • Starting into the Rio Grande Gorge south of the Lobatos Bridge in Colorado.  Next bridge across the Rio Grande is the John Dunn in New Mexico - 70 river miles south.
